From Breakdown to Breakthrough: An Intimate Lecture
Group Meeting Artist Tamar Shippony will discuss how she sees points where people feel “stuck” as the artistic potential for change and renewed thinking about a piece. In her view, the way a person manages crises that appear to be hopeless, in art or in life, determines whether they will reach despair or success. During the discussion, she will talk about how moments of crisis for her work "Burning, Eroding" led her to make a mental change, a change in the way of working, leading to the end result, which Shippony herself did not anticipate. Tamar Shippony is an artist who lives in Jerusalem and works in the Art Cube Artists' Studios. She studied at the Pratt Institute in New York, and graduated from the Bezalel Academy Art Department. Shippony is a sculptor and video artist whom in recent years, also makes cinematic films. Her works are influenced by the Kabbalah, and she has a need to touch and embody spirit through matter. |

מהתמוטטות להתמודדות מפגש קבוצתי האמנית תמר שיפוני, תספר בשיחה כיצד היא רואה בנקודות בהן 'נתקע' המהלך האמנותי פוטנציאל לשינוי ולמחשבה מחודשת על היצירה. לפי תפיסתה, הדרך שבה אדם מנהל משברים הנראים כאבודים, באמנות או בחיים, קובעת האם הוא יגיע לייאוש או להצלחה. במהלך השיחה היא תספר כיצד רגעי המשבר בעבודה "נצרב, נשחק" הובילו אותה לעשות שינוי מחשבתי, שינוי בדרך העבודה, והובילו לתוצאה הסופית, ששיפוני בעצמה לא צפתה.1 תמר שיפוני, אמנית המתגוררת בירושלים ויוצרת בסדנאות האמנים. למדה בפראט אינסטיטוט שבניו יורק ובוגרת המחלקה לאמנות בבצלאל. שיפוני היא פסלת ואמנית וידאו אשר בשנים האחרונות גם יוצרת סרטי קולנוע. העבודות שלה מושפעות מהקבלה ויש לה צורך לגעת ולגלם רוח דרך חומר.1 |
