Empty Paper Anxiety
Personal Meeting When facing a smooth page, with all options open, a person often experiences paralysis. Even when an artist enters the studio, the question "how do I start?" arises often. In the session, artist Dana Tannhauser will allow the visitor to try to break out of this state of paralysis. She will offer him all the possible materials and techniques in her studio, and ask the visitor to find a way to start creating within this abundance of possibilities. Then, Dana will talk about how she herself manages to start doing when all options are open. Dana Tannhauser was born in 1989 and graduated with a BFA from the Bezalel School of Ceramics and Glass in 2017. She lives in Jerusalem and works in the Art Cube Artists’ Studios. Tannhauser is a sculpture and installation artist, who engages with body-to-structure relationships through sculpture in glass and various materials. Since graduating, she has shown her work in group exhibitions in Jerusalem, Tel Aviv and Prague, and her work has been published in New Glass Review, a publication of the Corning Museum of Glass in New York. She won the Andy Award for Outstanding Achievement in the Field of Glass in 2017, AIDA Scholarship at Pilchuck Glass School in Washington, DC 2019, America-Israel Scholarship 2017, and Pilchuck Glass School Scholarship from Bezalel for 2015. |

מפגש אישי כאשר אדם ניצב מול דף חלק, כשכל האופציות פתוחות לפניו, פעמים רבות הוא חווה שיתוק. גם כשאמנית נכנסת לסטודיו, פעמים רבות עולה השאלה "כיצד מתחילים?". במפגש, האמנית דאנה טנהאוזר תאפשר למבקר/ת לנסות לצאת בעצמו/ה מהשיתוק - היא תציע לו את כל החומרים והטכניקות האפשריות, אצלה בסטודיו, ותבקש מהמבקר/ת למצוא בעצמו דרך להתחיל ליצור מתוך כל השפע. לאחר מכן, דאנה תספר כיצד היא בעצמה מצליחה לפעול כשכל האפשרויות פתוחות.1 מהמחלקה BFA דאנה טנהאוזר, ילידת 1989, בוגרת לקרמיקה וזכוכית בבצלאל לשנת 2017, חיה בירושלים ויוצרת בסטודיו בסדנאות האמנים, ירושלים.1 טנהאוזר היא אמנית פיסול ומיצב, העוסקת ביחסי גוף-מבנה באמצעות פיסול בזכוכית ובחומרים שונים. מאז סיום לימודיה הציגה בתערוכות קבוצתיות בירושלים, בתל New Glass אביב ובפראג ועבודתה פורסמה במגזין של מוזיאון קורנינג בניו-יורק. זוכת פרס אנדי Review להישגים יוצאי דופן בתחום הזכוכית לשנת 2017, מלגת ללימודים בבית הספר לזכוכית פילצ’וק בוושינגטון AIDA לשנת 2019, מלגת קרן אמריקה-ישראל לשנת 2017, ומלגת לימודים בבית הספר לזכוכית פילצ’וק מטעם בצלאל לשנת 2015.א |
