The starting point of Assaf Hinden and Sarai Himelfarb’s exhibition Blue Line was the planned Blue Line – the light rail whose route traverses Emek Refaim Street in Jerusalem's German Colony. The planned route sparked a heated public debate surrounding the changes and interventions in the urban composition of Emek Refaim – one of the last heritage sites in Jerusalem.
The artists touch on questions concerning human intervention in the urban fabric, often while destroying remnants of the past without giving them a concrete context or any kind of future. In a series of photographs, installation, and video, they delineate the fine line between the private and the public by deconstructing and re-thinking relics and charged symbols. The artworks, which purposely do not adopt a didactic position, include an antique and cryptic Alexandrian gate, decommissioned chimneys, and a collaborative video work in which a longtime resident of the neighborhood marks and splits his home with an actual blue line, as opposed to the threat of the metaphorical line. وُلد معرض "الخط الأزرق" لآساف هندن وساراي هيملفارب في أعقاب التشييد المخطط لخط القطار الخفيف الذي سيمر عبر شارع عيمق رفائيم في الكولونية الألمانية في القدس. يثير إنشاء الخط نقاشًا عامًا واسعًا حول تغيير مسطح إحدى مناطق الحفظ الأخيرة في القدس.1
يتطرق الفنانون للتدخل البشري في النسيج الحضري بطريقة تدمر بقايا الماضي دون منحه سياقا ملموسا أو مستقبليا أيا كان. في سلسلة من أعمال التصوير الفوتوغرافي ، منشآت الفيديو ، فإنهم يرسمون الحدود بين الخاص والعام من خلال تفكيك وإعادة بناء الآثار والرموز المشحونة.1 الأعمال التي لا تتخذ عمداً موقفاً تعليمياً ، تشمل بوابة ألكساندرانية قديمة تحمل رمزاً لا يمكن حله ، مداخن غير مستخدمة ، وعمل فيديو مع ساكن قديم في المستعمرة ، حيث تضع الخطة منزله في خطر. في الفيديو ، يقوم الساكن بتعليم منزله وتقسيمه بخط أزرق حقيقي ضد تهديد الخط المجازي.1 |
התערוכה 'קו כחול' של אסף הינדן ושרי הימלפרב נולדה בעקבות הקמתו המתוכננת של קו הרכבת הקלה העתיד לעבור ברחוב עמק רפאים שבמושבה הגרמנית בירושלים. הקמתו של הקו מעוררת דיון ציבורי נרחב סביב שינוי פני השטח של אחד מאזורי השימור האחרונים של ירושלים.1
האמנים מתייחסים להתערבות האדם במרקם העירוני באופן שהורס את שיירי העבר מבלי לתת להם הקשר קונקרטי או עתיד כלשהו. בסדרה של עבודות צילום, מיצב ווידאו, הם מסמנים את קו הגבול בין הפרטי לציבורי דרך פירוק והבניה מחודשת של שרידים וסמלים טעונים. העבודות שבמכוון אינן נוקטות עמדה דידקטית, כוללות שער אלכסנדרוני עתיק בעל סמליות לא מפוענחת, ארובות שאינן בשימוש ועבודת וידאו משותפת עם דייר ותיק של המושבה, שמתווה התוכנית מעמיד את ביתו בסכנה. בוידאו הדייר מסמן וחוצה את ביתו בקו כחול ממשי אל מול איומו של הקו המטאפורי.1 :אירועים בתערוכה 26.9 סדנת בניית מודלים לילדים בהנחיית שרי הימלפרב בהשראת תכניות מתאר של בתי הטמפלרים בעמק רפאים.1 |
