Rachel Kainy (born in Kibbutz Nahshon, 1981) lives, works, and teaches in Jerusalem.
She has chosen watercolor as the primary medium of her practice, dedicating herself to an ongoing exploration of the material’s boundaries and expressive potential. Her paintings aim to reflect layers of lived experience and developmental processes - beyond the visual aspect - through the merging of body, movement, sensation, emotion, scent, and time within the act of painting. Her sources of inspiration are diverse and include the geographical environment, nature, personal and current events, the political reality, mythologies, and texts such as the Zohar. Alongside her paintings, Kainy develops a practice of simultaneous ambidextrous drawing, performed while in motion and wandering through space. This is a continuous act, carried out as a quiet research of connection with the environment, and not presented publicly. Kainy teaches watercolor in various settings, including Bezalel Extension for Continuing Education, Oman, The Cube, and Emuna College. Teaching constitutes a natural continuation of her artistic activity - a living space for inquiry, deepening, and transmission. The pedagogical approach she has developed connects the act of painting to emotional and bodily sources such as breath, sensation, movement, memory, and dream. Since completing her studies, Rachel has exhibited in numerous solo shows, including at Rosenfeld Gallery (2025, 2022, 2019, 2010) Tel Aviv Artists House (2012), as well as in duo and group exhibitions throughout Israel - including the Israel Museum, Nahum Gutman Museum, the Jerusalem Artists’ House, The Cube, Alfred Gallery, ZUMU Lod, and more. Rachel is a graduate (with highest honors) of the Art School at Beit Berl College (2008). She is the recipient of the 2024 Plumas Art Foundation Grant and the 2025 Study Grant for Artists at the Israel Institute for Advanced Studies at the Hebrew University of Jerusalem. Her works are held in public and private collections in Israel and abroad, including the Israel Museum and the Schocken Collection. |
راحيل كيني (ولدت في كيبوتس نحشون، 1981) تعيش وتبدع وتعلّم في القدس. اختارت الألوان المائية كوسيط أساسي لأعمالها، وتكرس نفسها لبحث مستمر في حدود المادة وإمكانيات التعبير الكامنة فيها
تسعى لوحاتها إلى عكس طبقات من تجارب الحياة ومسارات التطور – بما يتجاوز الجانب البصري – من خلال دمج الجسد، الحركة، الإحساس، الشعور، الرائحة والزمن في فعل الرسم.1 مصادر إلهامها متنوعة وتشمل البيئة الجغرافية، الطبيعة، الأحداث الشخصية والجارية، الواقع السياسي، الأساطير، ونصوصًا مثل "سفر الزوهار".1 إلى جانب لوحاتها، تطوّر راحيل ممارسة للرسم المتزامن بكلتا اليدين، أثناء الحركة والتجوال في الفضاء. هذا عمل مستمر، يجري كبحث هادئ عن الاتصال بالبيئة المحيطة، ولا يتم عرضه.1 كيني يُعلّم الرسم بالألوان المائية في أطر مختلفة، من بينها الدراسات الخارجية في "بتسلئيل"، و"أمان"، و"كوفيا"، وكلية "إيمونا". يشكل التدريس امتدادًا طبيعيًا لنشاطها الفني – فهو مساحة حية للبحث والتعمق والنقل. النهج التربوي الذي طورته يربط بين فعل الرسم والمصادر العاطفية والجسدية، مثل التنفس، الإحساس، الحركة، الذاكرة والحلم.1 منذ تخرجها، عرضت راحيل أعمالها في العديد من المعارض الفردية، من بينها في غاليري روزنفيلد (2025، 2022، 2019... 2010)، ورشات الفنانين في تل أبيب (2012)، وكذلك في معارض ثنائية وجماعية في جميع أنحاء البلاد – بما في ذلك متحف إسرائيل، متحف ناحوم غوتمان، بيت الفنانين في القدس، هكوبيا، غاليري ألفريد، زومو اللد وغيرها.1 راحيل هي خريجة كلية الفنون "همدراشا" في بيت بيرل (2008، بامتياز)، وحاصلة على منحة من صندوق فلومس للإبداع (2024) ومنحة دراسية في برنامج الفنانين التابع للمعهد الإسرائيلي للدراسات المتقدمة في الجامعة العبرية (2025). توجد أعمالها في مجموعات عامة وخاصة في إسرائيل والعالم، من بينها مجموعة متحف إسرائيل ومجموعة شوكن.1 |
רחל קיני (נולדה בקיבוץ נחשון, 1981) חיה, יוצרת ומלמדת בירושלים.
בחרה בצבעי מים כמדיום המרכזי של עבודתה, ומתמסרת לחקירה מתמשכת של גבולות החומר ואפשרויות הביטוי הגלומות בו ציוריה שואפים לשקף שכבות של חוויות חיים ותהליכי התפתחות – מעבר להיבט החזותי – דרך עירוב של גוף, תנועה, תחושה, רגש, ריח וזמן בפעולה הציורית. מקורות ההשראה מגוונים וכוללים את הסביבה הגיאוגרפית, טבע, אירועים אישיים ואקטואליים, המציאות הפוליטית, מיתולוגיות, וטקסטים דוגמת ספר הזוהר לצד ציוריה, מפתחת רחל פרקטיקה של רישום סימולטני בשתי ידיים, תוך כדי תנועה ושיטוט במרחב. זוהי פעולה מתמשכת ,המתקיימת כמחקר שקט של חיבור עם הסביבה, ואינה מוצגת קיני מלמדת צבעי מים במסגרות שונות, בהן לימודי החוץ של "בצלאל", "אמן", "קוביה", ומכללת "אמונה". ההוראה מהווה המשך טבעי לפעולתה האמנותית – מרחב חי של חקירה, העמקה והעברה. הגישה הפדגוגית שפיתחה מחברת בין פעולת הציור לבין מקורות רגשיים וגופניים, כגון נשימה, תחושה, תנועה, זיכרון וחלום מאז סיום לימודיה, הציגה רחל בתערוכות יחיד רבות, ביניהן בגלריה רוזנפלד (2025, 2022, 2019 ...2010), סדנאות האמנים תל אביב (2012), וכן בתערוכות זוגיות וקבוצתיות ברחבי הארץ – כולל מוזיאון ישראל, מוזיאון נחום גוטמן, בית האמנים בירושלים, הקוביה, גלריה אלפרד, זומו לוד ועוד רחל היא בוגרת המדרשה לאמנות, בית ברל (2008, בהצטיינות יתרה), זוכת מענק קרן פלומס ליצירה (2024) ומענק לימודים בתוכנית לאמנים של המכון הישראלי ללימודים מתקדמים באוניברסיטה העברית (2025) עבודותיה נמצאות באוספים ציבוריים ופרטיים בארץ ובעולם, ביניהם מוזיאון ישראל ואוסף שוקן. |
