Aniam Leah Dery's solo show at the Art Cube Artists' Studios presents a sculptural video installation composed of a series of video works filmed in the artist's studio during the last few months, and a wall built out of soil castings.
In the center of the room,a human-sized screen, and on it – a body trapped inside a narrow geological section. The artist braces slices of soil to her limbs and moves her body in relation to them. She brings her neck close to the earth, and earth to neck, her head resting on a mold of dirt, looking for refuge. The grid is built from a plain metal rolling cart, one that is used by bakeries – one that makes it easy to replace one mold with another. On other walls, a body pushes more soil, which presses more body that pushes soil. Land and soil converse. The starting point for the exhibition is the ׳miraculous contraction of the road׳ (Kefitzat Haderech)- shortening and folding of time and space in a miraculous way as it appears in the Jewish sources. In the collaborative work of the artist with her creative partners, she brings the word together with body and material and thus extracting choreographies and sculptural interpretations from the stories. The sources themselves appear in the exhibition in different configurations, interspersed with the text of the catalog, arranged in the bookcase in the space, and reading and study sessions will be held around them during the exhibition. One of Dery’s sources of creation is the issue of doubt and faith, but it seems that the distance between religious life and the field of contemporary art required, along the way, a translation from one language to another. It also required the suppression of political questions about the soil of the land, which could not be translated to the liminal language of contemporary art discourse—a critical and decisive language. And then—the earth literally rose and took over the space. It managed to leap, to lose control, it seems, as it broke into layers that began to dance with each other. |

في وسط الغرفة شاشة بحجم الإنسان، وعليها جسد محاصر داخل مقطع جيولوجي ضيق. تثبت الفنانة شرائح من التربة على أطرافها وتحرك جسدها في علاقة معها. تقرب عنقها من الأرض، والتراب من عنقها، ورأسها يرتكز على قالب من التراب، باحثة عن ملجأ. الشبكة مبنية من عربة معدنية عادية، تستخدمها المخابز - وهي تسهل استبدال قالب بآخر. على جدران أخرى، يدفع جسد المزيد من التربة، مما يضغط على المزيد من الجسم الذي يدفع التربة. الأرض والتربة تتحاوران نقطة البداية للمعرض هي "التقلص العجيب للطريق" (كفيتسات هادريخ) – تقصير وطي الزمان والمكان بطريقة عجيبة كما يظهر في المصادر اليهودية. في العمل التعاوني للفنانة مع شركائها الإبداعيين، تجمع بين الكلمة والجسد والمادة وبالتالي تستخرج من القصص تصميمات رقص وتفسيرات نحتية. تظهر المصادر نفسها في المعرض في تكوينات مختلفة، تتخللها نصوص الكتالوج، مرتبة في خزانة الكتب في الفضاء، وستقام حولها جلسات قراءة ودراسة أثناء المعرض أحد مصادر الإبداع عند ديرعي هو مسألة الشك والإيمان، ولكن يبدو أن المسافة بين الحياة الدينية ومجال الفن المعاصر تطلبت، على طول الطريق، الترجمة من لغة إلى أخرى. كما تطلبت قمع الأسئلة السياسية حول تربة الأرض، والتي لم يكن من الممكن ترجمتها إلى اللغة الحدية لخطاب الفن المعاصر - لغة نقدية وحاسمة. ثم - ارتفعت الأرض حرفيًا واستولت على الفضاء. تمكنت من القفز، وفقدان السيطرة، كما يبدو، حيث انقسمت إلى طبقات بدأت ترقص مع بعضها البعض |
בתערוכת היחידה של אניעם דרעי בסדנאות האמנים בירושלים, מוצג מיצב וידאו פיסולי המורכב מסדרה של עבודות וידאו שצולמו בחודשים האחרונים בסטודיו של האמנית ומקיר שנבנה מיציקות אדמה.1
במרכז החדר מסך במידות אדם ועליו גוף לכוד בתוך חתך גאולוגי צר. האמנית מצמידה אל איבריה פרוסות אדמה ומניעה את גופה ביחס אליהן. היא מקרבת צוואר לאדמה, אדמה לצוואר, ראשה מונח על תבנית אדמה, מחפש מנוח. הגריד בנוי מעגלת מתכת פשוטה על גלגלים, של מאפיות – כזו שאפשר להחליף בה בקלות תבנית אחת באחרת. על קירות אחרים גוף דוחף עוד אדמה שדוחקת עוד גוף שדוחף אדמה. אדמה ואדמה משוחחות.1 נקודת המוצא לתערוכה היא ״קפיצת הדרך״ – קיצור וקיפול של הזמן והמרחב בדרך נס כפי שמופיע במקורות היהודיים. בעבודה דרשנית משותפת של האמנית עם שותפותיה ליצירה, היא מפגישה את המילה עם גוף ועם חומר וכך מחלצת כוראוגרפיות ופרשנויות פיסוליות מתוך הסיפורים. המקורות עצמם מופיעים בתערוכה בתצורות שונות, שלובים בטקסט הקטלוג, מסודרים בארון הספרים שבחלל, וסביבם יערכו מפגשי קריאה ולימוד במהלך התערוכה.1 אחד ממקורות היצירה שמלווים את דרעי הוא המרחק בין החיים האמוניים לשדה האמנות העכשווית, מרחק שדרש במהלך הדרך תרגום משפה אחת לאחרת, והדחקה של שאלות פוליטיות על אדמת הארץ שלא יכלו לקבל תרגום לשפת הסף של השיח על אמנות עכשווית – שפה נחרצת, ביקורתית. ואז – קפצה לה הארץ, כפשוטה, והשתלטה על החלל. היא הצליחה לקפוץ, לאבד שליטה, ככל הנראה, כשהתפרקה לשכבות ואלו החלו לרקוד זו עם זו.1 |
